A home-style space designed for dogs
Our dog care space is a renovated house that’s been thoughtfully repurposed for dogs, rather than a traditional kennel-style facility.

This home-style setup allows dogs to move through familiar rooms, enjoy calmer spaces and settle more easily than they might in a large, industrial environment. For many dogs, this makes a big difference to how comfortable and relaxed they feel during their time with us.

We’ve designed our space to support calm behaviour, predictable routines and positive interactions, because the environment matters just as much as the care itself.
How we care for dogs
At Common Ground Canine, dogs aren’t treated as numbers on a list.

We take the time to understand each dog’s personality, preferences and needs, and we adjust our care accordingly. Some dogs love social play, others prefer quieter time, and many fall somewhere in between.
Our role is to notice, respond and support them in a way that feels right for the dog in front of us.

How our services work together
One of the things that makes Common Ground Canine different is how our services are designed to work together.
Dogs staying overnight take part in daycare during the day, allowing them to stay engaged, familiar with the environment and connected to our team. Grooming can also be booked alongside daycare or overnight stays, which often makes the experience calmer and more relaxed for dogs who already know us.

This integrated approach helps dogs feel more settled and supported, especially when they’re with us regularly.

Our team is made up of people who genuinely care about dogs and take pride in how they show up for them every day.

We value patience, kindness, consistency and clear communication. We also believe good dog care is built on observation, learning and being willing to adjust when something isn’t working for a particular dog.

Dogs are safest and happiest when they’re understood, and that’s what we aim to do every day.
A quiet commitment to community
Alongside providing high-quality care for dogs, Common Ground Canine is also building toward something more.

We are a nonprofit social enterprise, which means that our work with dogs also supports meaningful opportunities for people in our immediate Logan Village community, but also surrounding areas including Brisbane and Gold Coast too. This includes training, employment pathways and practical support, delivered with dignity and respect.
​
This work happens quietly in the background. Your dog’s care remains professional, consistent and focused entirely on their wellbeing.
