TERMS & CONDITIONS

Common Ground Canine Ltd

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Common Ground Canine Ltd, including dog daycare, dog grooming and overnight care (dog motel).

By booking or using our services, you agree to the following terms.

1. About Us

Common Ground Canine Ltd operates a dog daycare, grooming and overnight care service in Logan Village, Queensland.

We previously been known as The Pawfect Place Doggy Daycare and Spa. Existing and new customers are bound by these updated Terms & Conditions.

2. Dog Health, Behaviour & Disclosure

The safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care is our top priority.

Owners must disclose any known behavioural issues, medical conditions, previous aggression, anxiety, bite history, or special handling requirements at the time of booking.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in:

  • Refusal of service

  • Immediate removal of your dog from care

  • Liability for any injury, damage or additional costs arising from non-disclosure

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue care for any dog if we believe it is not in the best interests of the dog, other dogs, staff or visitors.

3. Illness, Injury & Veterinary Care

While every effort is made to provide a safe and calm environment, dogs are animals and minor injuries such as scratches or small cuts can occur during play or grooming.

By using our services, you authorise Common Ground Canine Ltd to seek veterinary treatment if we believe it is necessary for your dog’s health or welfare. Veterinary costs are the responsibility of the owner.

In the event of serious illness or injury, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you immediately unless otherwise instructed in writing.

4. Vaccinations & Eligibility

All dogs must:

  • Be at least 3 months of age

  • Be fully vaccinated (with proof provided prior to booking confirmation)

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog without providing a reason.

5. Photos & Media

Photos and videos of dogs in our care may be taken for operational or promotional purposes, including social media.

If you do not wish for your dog’s image to be used, please notify us in writing and remind staff at each visit.

6. Bookings & Attendance

All dogs must have a confirmed booking for daycare, grooming or overnight care.

Capacity limits apply and last minute bookings may be refused.

Dogs new to our facility must complete a trial / evaluation day prior to ongoing daycare or motel bookings.

7. Hours of Operation & Pick-Up

Operating hours are displayed on our website and may change from time to time.

Pick-up and drop-off times must be adhered to. Early drop-offs or late pick-ups may incur a late fee to cover staff overtime.

8. Grooming Services

Grooming times are estimates only and may vary based on coat type, condition and dog behaviour.

If a dog arrives excessively matted, a full clip may be required. In such cases:

  • Minor nicks or clipper irritation may occur

  • Desired finish cannot be guaranteed

  • If grooming takes significantly longer than estimated due to coat condition or additional care needs, an extra care fee may apply.

9. Daycare & Overnight Care (Dog Motel)

Dogs staying overnight participate in daycare during the day and rest in individual sleep pens overnight.

Dogs may return home more tired than usual, drink more or eat less for a short period following daycare or overnight stays. This is normal.

Owners are encouraged to supply their dog’s own food. If food is supplied by us, an additional fee will apply.

10. Payments & Pricing

Payment terms, deposits and pricing are outlined on our booking system and at time of booking.

All fees must be paid when your dog is dropped off.

Prices are subject to change due to additional requirements, special requests or rising operational costs. Fees charged are those current at the time of service, not inquiry.

11. Cancellations & No-Shows

We roster staff and reserve space based on confirmed bookings. For this reason, the following applies:

11.1 Cancellations with more than 48 hours’ notice

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled drop-off or appointment time are eligible for a full refund or a credit to the client’s account, at the client’s choice.

11.2 Cancellations within 48 hours

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled service, as well as failure to attend a booked service (no-show), will result in the forfeiture of any deposit or booking fee paid.

11.3 Early departures and unused services

Early pick-ups, shortened stays, late drop-offs, or unused booked services do not qualify for refunds or credits, as staffing and space have already been allocated.

11.4 Administration and re-rostering costs

Where a cancellation or change creates additional administrative or staffing costs, a reasonable administration or re-rostering fee may be retained or deducted. Any such fee will not exceed our genuine costs.

11.5 Discretion

The owners may, at our discretion, waive fees or offer credits in exceptional circumstances.

12. Owner Responsibility & Indemnity

Owners remain responsible for their dog’s behaviour at all times.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Common Ground Canine Ltd against any loss, damage, injury or liability arising from your dog’s actions while in our care.

13. Abandoned Animals

If a dog is not collected and we are unable to contact the owner, the dog may be deemed abandoned after a reasonable period. In such cases, we reserve the right to recover costs and take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable laws.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Common Ground Canine Ltd is not liable for illness, injury, loss or death of any animal while in our care, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes your statutory rights.

15. Acceptance of Terms

By booking or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
